General Questions
Q. Where can I find information on how to use Stanford ELP and
Stanford SLP Rapid Reports in its full capacity?
For detailed Rapid Reports specific information, please refer to the
appropriate section in the User's Guide or the Admin Guide located on the
Main page.
Q. Why is the Save and/or Delete button disabled?
The Save button is disabled when all required fields are not yet
entered. The Delete button is disabled when the action is restricted to
safeguard pre-existing data.
Q. What does the message ‘No classes’ mean?
There are currently no classes setup and
made available to you. If you are not an administrator, contact your administrator to setup your class as appropriate.
Q. What does the message ‘No Active Test Period
Available’ mean?
This message indicates that either no test periods have been
setup for your account or that a recent test period has expired.
Only the highest level administrator is allowed to setup the next
test period.
Q. Why do some of the links/buttons in the site not appear to
be working?
Macintosh’s Internet Explorer typically will encounter this
problem. This browser is not supported or recommended for use with Rapid
Reports.
Q. How do I find out my username and/or password?
Rapid Reports users who have been setup as administrators can reset the
passwords of users below their administration level, i.e. District level
administrators can reset School level users. Pearson cannot reset
passwords.
Q. Why can’t I see my district, school and/or class in the
drop down list?
Your administrator must first setup these areas and assign you
appropriate access to these records.
Questions
Relating to Student Data (back to top)
Q.
How do I mark a student as ineligible after administering the screening
test? There used to be a
checkbox for this on the Demographics screen.
The
‘Ineligible’ checkbox and ‘Date of Screening’ have
been moved from the Demographics page to the Assessment Scores page. So just click the ‘Save and
Score’ button on the demographics page. After selecting either Stanford ELP
or Stanford SLP, you may mark the student as ineligible on the assessment
page.
Q.
How do I enter an assessment for Stanford Spanish Language
Proficiency? I only see
Stanford English Language Proficiency assessments and reports.
Your
account administrator must select Stanford Spanish Language Proficiency on
the Test Window Page. Then when
you enter scores for a student, you will select which test was administered
if your window was set up for both Stanford ELP and Stanford SLP.
Q. After searching for a student, the Edit Student link is disabled.
Why?
This link is disabled when you do not have sufficient rights to view the
student's demographic information and/or scores. You may use the Roster
link to view the class in which the student is
assigned, and you can re-roster the student if your administrator has given
you sufficient rights.
Q. How do I delete a student? Why is the software not
letting me delete a student?
Click Search Students, select the search criteria, click Next, click
Edit Student, and then click Delete. Students with assessments i.e., that
have scores entered, cannot be deleted.
Q. Can I enter students in different grade levels into the same
class?
Scoring is based on the grade level. Therefore, each class within Rapid
Reports must be assigned a single grade level. If your ELL class is
comprised of students in different grades, you must have multiple
classes set up in Rapid Reports, one for each grade.
Q. When I am creating a new student record, why do I receive a
message stating that the student already exists, but I cannot find the student
in Search Students?
The student you are attempting to create already exists in a class,
but you do not have rights to view students in that class. A higher level
user should re-roster the student that is already in the system in order to
move the student into your class.
Re-rostering
Questions (back to top)
Q. Can anyone re-roster a student into another class?
No. A user must have both ‘Enter data for others’ and
‘Editing’ rights in order to re-roster students. This is to
help ensure that students are rostered into the correct class by an
individual with the proper authority.
Q. Why can’t I re-roster a student
even when I have rights to do so?
There is an assessment with scores in the system for this
student. To ensure the integrity of the
student's scores, the student cannot be re-rostered from the
‘Roster’ screen.
Q. How can I re-roster a student after they have an assessment?
This is not recommended. However, if absolutely necessary, you may
select a different class while editing the student's data using the Student
Demographics screen. Note: performing this action will delete the student's
scores and the scores will need to be reentered.
Reports (back to top)
Q. Why is the Submit Request button disabled when I am trying to
create a report?
This button is not enabled until all criteria to build a report have
been selected.
Q. Why are there duplicate Test Windows
displayed when I request a Class Proficiency Report or a student report for
“all students”.
A. If both Stanford English
and Stanford Spanish Language Proficiency tests were set up for that test
window, then the test window name will display with the same name but
“Stanford ELP” or “Stanford SLP” will be appended
to the end of the window name.
So they are not actually duplicate names. You must request Stanford ELP
and Stanford SLP reports separately.
Q. In the View Reports screen, why is the report I created not
showing up in the list?
Each report may take a few seconds to generate. Click the Refresh button
periodically to check for your report. If your report still does not
appear, double check to ensure that you have entered scores for this
student or marked the student ineligible.
Q. How can I make the most recent reports appear at the top of the
list?
Click the ‘Date/Time Created’ hyperlink to toggle between
sorting that column in ascending order and sorting it is descending order.
Q. Why is most of the student report blank?
You may not have entered assessment information and scores for the
student, therefore only the demographics information is shown on the
report. Similarly, if you marked the student ineligible, very little
information is provided in the report.
Q. How do I create multiple reports at the same time?
You may select ‘All students in class’
as an option to create multiple reports. Note: Rapid Reports DOES NOT provide this same capability for an entire school; each
class must be submitted as a separate report request.
Q. How do I view/print multiple reports at the same time?
From the View Reports screen, click the box next to the reports you wish
to view or click the Select All button to select all reports on the screen.
Then, click the View Selected Reports button to open one PDF file
containing all of the selected reports. From here, you can print or
save the files.
